Elena Kovacs arrives in Venice for the most important debut of her career singing at the legendary La Fenice. As the boat slowly glides through the city’s canals, the young singer thinks back to what she saw just hours earlier her husband and manager, Alexander Petrov, with his secretary backstage at the theater. The memory of her betrayal continues to haunt her as she approaches the theater. When she finally enters La Fenice, the backstage area is already filled with lights, technicians, and voices.
